Surgical Area Business Director - East
The Area Business Director (ABD) is responsible for leading sales activities across the East region within the Surgical Division. This individual will drive sales performance personally and through the leadership of Regional Managers and their respective sales teams.
Knowledge Requirements:
- Comprehensive understanding of sales strategies, territory management, and forecasting within the medical device or healthcare industry.
- Strong knowledge of gynecological surgical products and clinical applications.
- Familiarity with regulatory and legal requirements relevant to healthcare sales.
- Awareness of industry trends, competitive landscape, and key opinion leaders in gynecology or pathology.
- Ability to apply best practices in talent development, recruitment, and performance management.
Skills Requirements:
- Sales Management: Proven ability to set and achieve sales targets, manage large teams, and optimize territory performance.
- Strategic Planning: Expertise in developing sales plans, quotas, and goals in collaboration with executive leadership.
- Client & Distributor Relations: Skilled in advising clients and distributors, delivering product information, and negotiating agreements.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for influencing, presenting, and collaborating across functions.
- Organizational & Analytical Skills: Highly organized, adept at budgeting, forecasting, and managing expenditures to achieve financial objectives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Able to partner effectively with other departments to ensure alignment and drive business outcomes.
- Team Development: Proficient in recruiting, training, mentoring, and evaluating sales talent.
- Industry Representation: Capable of representing the company at trade association meetings and with high-profile thought leaders.

Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 7+ years of progressive sales experience in the medical device or healthcare industry, with at least 5+ years in a regional or national leadership role.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving commercial success in medical equipment and/or clinical product environments. sector.
- Demonstrated success in leading and developing sales teams to consistently achieve and exceed targets.
- Track record of collaborating across business functions and influencing without direct authority.
- History of representing organizations at industry events and with key stakeholders.
- Experience in managing budgets, forecasting sales, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required within the assigned region.
